Dayton Disaster Medical Assistance Team DMAT
Composed of volunteers which include physicians, nurses, EMTs, Paramedics, technical staff and other health professionals as well as support staff. Team members are trained to respond to a disaster as an organized group. On-line source of DMAT information. It is designed for Dayton DMAT members to keep up to date, but many others will find it of use also. DMAT teams can be viewed as mobile emergency rooms, providing triage and stabilization of patients at a disaster site and providing basic medical services. The Dayton DMAT organization is a first response Level 2 team. The team operates under the National Disaster Medical System, an entity of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
